Point your camera. Know your kitchen.
You open the fridge, grab what you need, close it. Later you're at the store thinking "do I have eggs?" Shelfie fixes that. One photo of your shelf and everything's catalogued — the spinach behind the yogurt, the three jars of paprika you keep forgetting about, all of it. No barcodes. No typing "1x organic free-range eggs" into a text field. Just point and know.

Common questions
How does Shelfie scan groceries without barcodes?
Shelfie uses on-device image recognition (not barcode scanning) to identify food items from a photo. Point your camera at a shelf, fridge, or grocery bag and it recognizes individual ingredients — bananas, milk cartons, spice jars, produce. It works on loose items, not just packaged goods.
How accurate is the AI food scanner?
Recognition accuracy is above 90% for common grocery items. It handles produce, dairy, canned goods, condiments, and packaged foods. For uncommon or unlabeled items, you can tap to correct — and Shelfie learns your preferences over time.
Can I scan receipts instead of food?
Yes. Shelfie can read grocery receipts and add items to your pantry automatically. It pulls item names, quantities, and prices. Useful when you've already put everything away.
Does the scanner work offline?
The initial recognition uses a cloud model for best accuracy. After that, your pantry is stored locally and works fully offline — no internet needed to check what you have.
What happens after I scan? Where do items go?
Scanned items land in your pantry, organized by storage location (fridge, freezer, pantry, spice rack). Shelfie estimates expiry dates based on food type and storage method. From there, it feeds into recipe suggestions and grocery lists automatically.
